Researching The Unexplained: Connecting The Unconnected
Date: Wednesday, October 10th, 2007 (CST ) Topic: ESP and PSI
The day dawns brilliantly in the North Carolina Mountains as I skirt the rim of a peak heading towards the historic town of Asheville in anticipation of one of the most interesting seminars I’ve been to; the Dark30 tour. The seminar was named after the idea that unexplained and supernatural events are more likely to occur thirty minutes after dark.
The event promised to be interesting, particularly as it was hosted and presented by three exceptional paranormal research professionals; Joshua Warren, founder of L.E.M.U.R., Nick Redfern, author of many books, researcher and representative of the Centre for Fortean Zoology, and Jim Marrs, a well known conspiracy theorist.
As member of the League of Energy Materialization and Unexplained Research, I have known Joshua Warren for a couple of years, having served as lead Bio-Chemist on their Genesis Project. The aim of the seminar was to bring together three different aspects of the unexplained. Presentations on everything from ghosts and cryptids to ESP and UFO’s would offer food for thought as the day progressed.
Ghostly Photographs
The event began with Joshua
Warren detailing photographic anomalies that offered tantalizing
evidence of paranormal phenomena and ghostly presences. The first
example involved a pair of photographs of a footpath on what was once
the battlefield at Gettysburg. The first snap was a regular composition
that any standard camera would take; however the second photograph of
the same spot, this time taken using infra-red photography, showed
something quite remarkable. The infra red photography revealed the
unmistakable silhouette of a soldier, complete with haversack and
standard army equipment, walking that same path.
The second example centered
on a promotional photograph that a couple had taken of a bedroom in
their B&B (Bed and Breakfast). Curiously, although the room was unoccupied when the
photograph had been taken, it seemed to show an adolescent in the bed.
Stranger still, the apparition seemed to be missing an arm. Subsequent
investigation determined that a 15 year old former resident of the
house had lost an arm when hit by a train. Detailed examination of the
ghostly photograph showed that not only did the hairline of the
apparition match an actual photograph but it was the same arm that was
missing.
A Scientific Look at the Issue
The discussion then eased
effortlessly into aural fields; the electromagnetic fields that exist
around living substances, and Kirlian photography; a form of contact
print photography that uses high voltages to take a photographic
impression of an object’s aural field. Kirlian experiments with leaves
that had been cut in two demonstrated how in certain conditions, the
energy imprint of a whole leaf remained even after the leaf had been
cut. The same is of course true of a hologram where every part of a
hologram contains the image of the whole object. Warren posits that, if
the Kirlian phantom leaf experiment displays the missing part of the
leaf, then in the same way, a person could also leave an
electro-magnetic signature after their death.
Science has long been able
to demonstrate that all life has an Electromagnetic field. Warren works
on the premise that in some cases, where there is impetus, or a
traumatic event surrounding the person’s passing, the aural imprint can
remain long after death. It is the intensity of the event that
determines the possibility of a lasting imprint remaining after death.
This theory is borne out by research conducted by a team of Russian
scientists who experimented with Kirlian photographs of corpses that
had died naturally and those who had died suddenly and violently. The
corpses that had met with a violent end left an imprint that lasted up
to five days after their death as opposed to the three day imprint of
those that had died from natural causes.
Tools of the Trade
There are occasions when
equipment doesn’t just register subtle changes in a room; at times the
energies present can physically affect monitoring equipment. A
poltergeist investigation in South Carolina for example, resulted in an
EM (Electromagnetic) meter peaking only to be turned 90 degrees to the
left by an unseen and unexplained force. This particular event was
caught on camera and has never been explained.
Warren also showed a video
that documented the investigation of suspected poltergeist activity in
a basement where several bodies were known to be buried. When an
attending Minister asked if there was a need for a proper burial for
the deceased, there was no visual response; however the EM
(Electromagnetic) meter immediately peaked. It is clear that there are
occasions when electrical equipment is able to pick up subtle energy
fluctuations that we often miss.
An effective demonstration
of our own sensory limitations was created when Warren showed how a
message could be sent that could not be detected by our own senses.
This was done by connecting a speaker wire to a six-inch diameter coil
of copper wire. When this was placed in front of a microphone it was
able to transmit an inaudible signal that the microphone could pick up.
We know of course that radio signals surround us and penetrate our
world, but we cannot hear them unless we have a radio that is tuned to
the appropriate frequency. Many paranormal investigators believe that
we also need to be ‘tuned into’ the paranormal energies to be able to
detect them. For some with psychic abilities this is a very natural
process. For others, monitoring equipment lifts the curtain to not only
reveal the unknown, but perhaps go some way towards proving its
existence.
Explaining the Unexplained
There are some mysteries
out there that can be explained by science, study and logic, such as
one of North Carolina’s most famous legends, the Brown Mountain Lights.
These strange lights had been observed for hundreds of years as they
floated up to the mountain top before fading away. Research conducted
by L.E.M.U.R. into the nature of the mountain’s geological composition
determined that the answer to this enigma lay not in the supernatural,
but in the power of the crystalline structure of the rock strata.
It
seems that a Piezo-electric effect was created quite naturally by
expansion and contraction of the rock strata. When this was combined
with rainfall, which added to the conductivity of the soil, plasma orbs
formed as a result. These orbs seemed to follow fault lines along the
periphery of the mountain, about halfway up the valley. While
investigations of this nature remove the romance and mystery from this
800 year old anomaly, it is this type of research that enlightens us,
in many respects dispelling the myths that attempt to define that which
we do not know.
Supernatural Creatures
Across the world there have
been reports of strange supernatural creatures, many of which have
almost become household names; the Mothman in Virginia, Chupacabras in
Mexico, Thunderbirds in various parts of the American Midwest; the list
is endless. Reports of these sightings are often remarkably consistent
despite geographical divides. Chupacabra reports seldom vary whether
they are made from the rain forests of Brazil, Puerto Rico or the
Southwestern United States for example.
England too has had its
fair share of visits from supernatural creatures. In 1976, a birdlike
creature with red glowing eyes that came to be known as the Owlman of
Mawnan, was reported on Cornwall in South West England. Sightings of
the creature continued until 1995. The Owlman of Mawnan incidentally
segued to another interesting red eyed creature documented in the
annals of supernatural England; the Highgate Vampire.
Several common threads run
through many of these reports; the creatures all seem to be surreal in
both their appearance and behavior; they often have red, glowing eyes
and have the ability to fly, seemingly without the necessary amount of
wing movement.
In many of the cases that
were investigated, it was found that there was almost always a point in
the creature’s trail where the evidence simply disappears without a
clear explanation. One school of thought is that this seems to be
suggestive of an ability to phase out of our dimension. This in turn
suggests that such creatures may originate in alternate realities but
are able to simply cross over to our environment periodically.
The creature that Redfern
refers to as the English equivalent of Bigfoot, the man-monkey, was
first recorded in 1890 in Shropshire. A wagon driver reportedly came
face to face with a strange supernatural creature which he claimed had
glowing red eyes. He also described an ominous feeling of a malevolent
presence. In fear for his life, the terrified man lashed out with his
whip which seemed to pass straight through the creature. While some
researchers might consider the ‘English Bigfoot’ label rather
misleading, what is clear is that this sighting bears a remarkable
similarity to another supernatural creature found in England at the
time; Spring Heeled Jack.
Looking at Lake Monsters
Much is made of historical
lore, myths and legends, such as that of the Mokele-mbembe, which is a
lake monster very similar to Scotland’s Loch Ness Monster. Witness
sightings of these creatures estimate them to be anything from fifteen
to thirty feet long, and describe them as being similar in appearance
to a Plesiosaur. There are species of animals such as the shark and the
crocodile that are millions of years old, but have survived against
incredible odds. Prehistoric fish such as the Coelacanth were thought
to have died out until some were found in 1938 in and around the
Comoros Islands in the western Indian Ocean near Madagascar. The
question is: Could some of the world’s great lakes provide a refuge for
a colony of plesiosaurs, or are the sightings of these creatures more
ethereal than physical?
We know that 10,000 years
ago during the end of the last ice age, Loch Ness became land-locked as
a result of glacial movement and seismic activity. Many
cryptozoologists argue that in theory, at least, there is a possibility
that a pelagic or roaming species of Plesiosaur could have become
trapped in the loch and adapted to a very cold, fresh water
environment. It is impossible to say one way or the other until further
evidence is obtained, but it remains a possibility that has never been
ruled out. Few researchers would doubt that there is something strange
about the lake.
It is interesting to note
that when remote viewers working for organizations such as PSI TECH
were instructed to view Loch Ness they claimed that they could detect a
past timeline and that future timelines were hazy and uncertain. Many
said that there was something ethereal about the lake.
Until we are able to make a
positive identification of Nessie, Mokele-mbembe or any other lake
monster, it is difficult to say what might be found in our lakes. As
Nick Redfern said in his presentation: “Who knows what lives, where no
one goes?”
Ancient Knowledge: Common Ground
For years, there has been
speculation about the location and authenticity of the lost
civilization of Atlantis. If, as many believe, advanced civilizations
have gone before us, there is little doubt that they would have left
their mark on our planet. The existence of pyramids as far afield as
Egypt, South America, China and the Canary Isles highlights common
ground between many ancient cultures. Likewise, megaliths and stone
circles that cover much of Europe hint at a continent that was united
by a mysterious and widespread belief system.
These ancient civilizations
didn’t just share similar practices and beliefs, many of them seemed to
possess knowledge of cosmology far beyond what we would have expected.
Sumerian tablets that are over 4,000 years old record an awareness of a
tenth planet with an elliptical orbit; a planet that was only
discovered in the last few years by modern astronomers. The myths of
the Dogon tribesmen of Mali, West Africa, contain astronomical
knowledge which the native people could have neither learned by
themselves nor guessed. This invariably leads to the questions: how did
they know this, did they possess technology that we don’t yet
understand or where they visited by ancient astronauts?
Ancient Mesopotamia,
particularly Sumer, is often referred to as the cradle of civilization.
According to Zecharia Sitchin, Sumerian records indicate that an
extraterrestrial race called the Anunnaki, specifically a brother and
sister named Enki and Ninhursag, conspired to genetically engineer
mankind as a worker race. The Anunnaki called this race ‘Adama’, which
is remarkably similar to the biblical ‘Adam’. Another notable parallel
between mythology and the bible is Utnapishti; the Sumerian version of
the biblical Noah. According to the Epic of Gilgamesh, Utnapishti took
the seed of all animals rather than the physical animal itself, which
is suggestive of some kind of DNA / genetic profile being taken.
Likewise, a cursory examination of the lives of both Moses and
Akhenaton shows many curious parallels, and we know that according to
the bible that Moses was schooled in all the Mysteries of Egypt.
The Amazing Properties of the Ancients’ Magical Powder
It is posited by Marrs,
that Moses knew about Manna, the ‘sacred powder of projection’. The
ancient Mesopotamians called this powder shem-an-na and the Egyptians
described it as mfkzt, while the Alexandrians venerated it as a gift
from Paradise. Later, chemists such as Nicolas Flamel referred to it as
the Philosophers' Stone. This strange white powder was thought to have
extraordinary powers of levitation, transmutation and teleportation. It
was also said to produce brilliant light and deadly rays, while at the
same time being a key to active physical longevity.
The Institute for Advanced
Studies based in Austin, Texas, USA, has described the substance as
‘exotic matter’. One of its primary characteristics, superconductivity,
has been claimed by the Center for Advanced Study based at the
University of Illinois, as having ‘the most remarkable physical
properties in the universe’. Modern researchers refer to this powder as
ORME or ‘orbitally rearranged monatomic elements’, a term first used in
the 1970’s by the man responsible for its rediscovery, David Hudson. A
miniscule amount of ORME has been synthesized in laboratories. When it
was weighed, the weight of the scale's balance pan was reduced by 44%.
It was noted that when the powder is stirred, it disappeared, but in
time came back into view. What makes ORME so sought-after is that it
potentially offers us the key to limitless free energy, a cure for AIDS
and cancer, longevity, faster-than-light speeds and perhaps even
inter-dimensional and time travel.
The earliest historical
record of mfkzt powder is in the Egyptian Pyramid Texts which date back
to the 5th-dynasty. The tomb of King Unas at Saqqara describes the
locality in which the King is said to live forever with the gods, and
it is called the Field of Mfkzt - an ethereal location associated with
an otherworldly dimension called the Field of the Blessed.
Solomon's temple was
reported to be an identical copy of the temple of Ninurta which was
built in Sumer 1,000 years earlier and was reported to contain a
treasure beyond all value, the treasure of treasures. If Solomon’s
Temple was indeed a replica of the Temple of Ninurta, then some have
asked if it was intended to replace a function of the Temple of
Ninurta. Was a great treasure moved from Sumer to Jerusalem at this
time? Legend tells us that whatever was hidden in the Temple of Solomon
was something of incomparable value. According to tradition, much of
Solomon's treasure was taken to Rome following the Jewish revolt of 66
AD. In 410 AD, Alaric, King of the Visigoths took the unusual step of
returning the treasure to the temple where it was thought to have
remained for the next 700 years until the Knights Templar arrived in
Jerusalem.
After the first crusade,
King Baldwin II of Jerusalem agreed to give the Knights a headquarters
in Jerusalem on the Temple Mount, in the captured Al Aqsa Mosque. The
knights then spent nine years excavating beneath Temple Mount. A great
deal of speculation surrounds the motivation behind this effort and
what exactly the Templars found, but few deny that they found
something. Some researchers ask whether or not the Ark of the Covenant
may have been somehow involved with the treasure that the Knights are
purported to have taken. One theory holds that the Ark of the Covenant
was the receptacle used to store the magical white powder, ORME. If so,
then that would explain why drawings of the Ark, show four men carrying
it when according to the historical record, the construction of the Ark
would have resulted in its weight being about 2,000 lbs. If the ark did
contain this mysterious powder, its weight would have been reduced by
the aforementioned 44%. All we know for sure is that when the Templar
order was forcibly disbanded by King Philip IV of France and Pope
Clement V in 1312, their treasure had already disappeared.
Twentieth Century Conspiracy
In 1942, Prescott Bush
formed the OSS, the precursor to the CIA, in order to avoid prosecution
for supporting Hitler during the war. Marrs speculates that in 1944,
the Germans somehow found Solomon's treasure or had been successful in
replicating the properties of ORME. The Third Reich’s interest in
alchemy and the occult is well documented, as is the amount of
resources they invested in scientific research.
If such a discovery was
made, it would certainly have enabled them to experiment with the
fabled Bell Project, an alleged anti gravity project carried out by
German scientists near the village of Ludwikowice in southern Poland.
At the end of WWII, the German elite, was scattered to the four winds,
and whatever treasure they had possessed mysteriously faded away.
However, many of the scientists involved in this research were taken to
the U.S. under an Operation codenamed ‘Paperclip’ which was intended to
recruit and protect the German scientists and the work they had
undertaken. But did the fabled treasure go with them?
Cosmic Connections
Events in history do not
exist in isolation, they exist as part of a series of actions; a chain.
To discover the truth we often need to recreate that chain, one link at
a time. It matters not whether the incident in question relates to a
UFO sighting, the appearance of supernatural creatures and entities, a
conspiracy or a grail quest. The truth can be unraveled only by careful
investigation and with an open mind.
Humankind needs to learn to look
deeper, to examine every minute detail and then step back and see the
bigger picture. These chains don’t just connect events in the physical
world; there are any number of invisible links that connect our
physical world with non physical ones and even alternate dimensions.
The challenge, as always, is to make the right connections.
