The Thorntree girl with 'The Sixth Sense'
Posted on Monday, August 11, 2008 (CDT) by Thoth
Emilia Rose Taylor, from Thorntree, is only three, but her parents Scott Taylor and Charlene Knight are already convinced that she has a special psychic ability. As a baby, she was prone to going into trances, which doctors thought could be a form of epilepsy. But numerous tests and scans all came back negative. It wasn’t until Emilia began to talk, that Scott, 31, and Charlene, 27, realised there could be more to it.
Ever since she started stringing her first words together, Emilia would often refer to the “old man” who lived in her bedroom cupboard. “I started to wonder if he was some kind of guardian angel,” said Charlene. “No matter where we went she would be saying the old man was there. “I used to say ‘Emilia, there’s no one there’ and she would say ‘Yes there is. And he’s ugly’.
“One day she was sat on her dad’s knee and she started wriggling - saying that the old man kept on tickling her toes. Another time she was shouting at him to get off her toys.”
Her parents
were often left open-mouthed when she would point out of the window
saying that she could see Ross - Scott’s twin brother who died when he
was four.
Despite Emilia’s remarkable
claims, neither Scott or Charlene have ever come across any unwanted
visitors in their Roworth Road home, though Charlene admits that she
used to feel like she was being watched if she was ever left alone in
the kitchen.
With her suspicions growing
all the time, Charlene made the decision to contact a psychic who
confirmed the old man had previously lived at their house, and wanted
to apologise for scaring Emilia.
Housewife Charlene said:
“Whenever he’s been around, Emilia would always say that he stinks,
which makes sense because according to the psychic, the man who used to
live here was a smoker who died of respiratory problems.”
The psychic also revealed
that there were two young boys living at the house - who were
responsible for tampering with her smoke alarm, writing on her wall and
hiding photographs that have never been found.
After performing a dramatic
exorcism in Emilia’s bedroom, Charlene was relieved to hear from the
psychic that the spirits had left the house. But this has not stopped
Emilia from chattering with her “friends”.
Charlene said: “She would
tell me she had a boyfriend called Michael who used to live in the
hospital, but now he lives in the cemetery, and she would get upset
because apparently he had no shoes on.
“Where would a
three-year-old get all that from? I asked her if Michael went to her
nursery, and she said ‘no, he lives in the sky’. I used to have an open
mind about these kind of things, but I’m definitely a believer now.”
Emilia’s behaviour became
so frequent that Charlene decided to mention it to her nursery teacher
- who recalled seeing Emilia having a conversation with thin air,
during which she kept on asking - “where are you going?” and “why are
you putting your coat on?”
Despite displaying all the
characteristics of a sixth sense, Emilia is a happy-go-lucky little
girl with bags of confidence and charm.
“She’s got such a large character for her age,” said Charlene. “She’s always singing, dancing and laughing.
“It doesn’t seem to bother
her in the slightest. I know that some people will think we are telling
her all this stuff, but we’re not.”
